Chachawan is an address where the flavours really do pack a punch. Originating from Thailand’s north east ‘Isaan’ region, Chachawan has changed the way Hong Kong looks at Thai food, through a smackdown of sweet, sour, salt and heat. The region’s fare has a raw, down-to-earthiness, about it that is rarely found in other regions – one executed through a focus on freshly pounded salads and grilled meats and fish prepared on the charcoal pit. Ones best enjoyed with cooling cocktails and bottled beers. Sweet wise, coconut rice and dumplings,  continue to be a cult favourite, after five years. Guests are encouraged to come early and often, with reservations not taken.
