It evokes confidence, and says to your significant other, “I’ve got this”. These special Valentine’s Day set menus for two are designed with maximum flavour in mind, so if you’re wondering what to eat and drink for Valentine’s Day 2019 in Hong Kong, scroll on.

HAM & SHERRY

The Spanish are great lovers – you can be one too. Ham & Sherry’s Valentine’s Day tasting menu comes with two night caps on the team at Back Bar. Dishes likes Truffle croquettes, Salted cod brandade, Seared tuna with lime and avocado and Duck breast with chorizo and raspberry will be served in succession. While warm Churros with chocolate sauce round out the feast (HK$888 + 10% per couple).

The wait is over. For one night only, 22 Ships are breaking all the rules and taking dinner reservations. Cosy up with your crush and share signature favourites like the Jamon, manchego and truffle toasties topped with quality eggs and be sure to check the chef’s board for specials too.

Commit to this set dinner for two and you’ll have no regrets. Along with a glass each of Veuve Clicquot to start, guests can choose courses of their choice with options including Buffalo wings and blue cheese sauce, Pork loin with sweet potato puree and pickled vegetables and the now infamous Red Velvet cake (HK$788 + 10% per couple).

ABERDEEN STREET SOCIAL 

Looking for a romantic, yet relaxed night out? Valentine’s Day at Aberdeen Street Social is it. Start with Ruinart before moving on to five courses lovingly created by Executive Chief Keith Hooker. Highlights include Hand rolled pasta, aged parmesan, truffle and Galloway beef, wild mushroom, onion, watercress (HK$700 pp + 10%). End on a sweet high before heading for home with handmade truffles from the team.

208 DUECENTO OTTO

A four-course Italian feast showcasing artisan ingredients awaits from Head Chef Zeno Bevilacqua is set to steal your heart on Valentine’s Day. Start with Seared scallop, rose petals, sweet baby onions and roasted sliced almonds, before moving onto Heart-shaped ravioli with beetroot, Gorgonzola and walnuts, and a choice of mains. Seal the deal with a sweet concoction of Yoghurt meringata, poached mixed berries and balsamic caviar (HK$688pp + 10%)  Vegetarian? No problem – there’s a set menu too! (HK$608 pp + 10%).

MAK MAK 

Prefer to stick to food you know and love this Valentine’s Day? Mak Mak’s got you. Highlights include Kheaw Wan Poo Nim– crispy soft shell crab, aromatic green curry, crab meat and Phad Bai Ka Pow, combining wok-fried minced chicken or pork, Thai holy basil and homemade stir-fry sauce. Finish with Coconut ice cream served with sticky rice, palm seeds and roasted peanuts, and night caps of Veuve Clicquot (HK$788 + 10% per couple).

CHACHAWAN

Spice it up on Valentine’s Day with a confirmed and oh, so covetable reservation at Chachawan. Romance over simple, clean and spice packed Issan dishes from the North East of Thailand and skip the sauces and stews. End the night with the famous sweets like Khao Niaw Mamuang (mango with sticky rice) and Kamon Dtom (warm coconut rice dumplings served in salted coconut cream) – it would be rude not to.
