Mexican Madness x 2
Cinco De Mayo, only comes once a year, making it a diary note not to let slide.
What’s more if you’re looking for Cinco De Mayo celebrations in Hong Kong, we’ve got two ways to celebrate.
ONE. TACO SUNDAY
Post brunch service, the Commissary team will be serving up taco and tequila from 3pm until close on Sunday May 5th.
Whether settling in for an afternoon session, quick fix or family meal, this year’s Cinco de Mayo celebrations are guaranteed to be ¡muy bien! for all.
Featuring a medley of new taco combinations including seafood, meat and vegetarian options, each are priced at HKD$50. But the more you order the better the value – HKD$140 for three, HKD$160 for four, HKD$200 for five and HKD$300 for eight.
Looking for libations? Enjoy an edit of specially priced Mexican favourites including Mezcal Mules (HKD$65), Tommy’s Margaritas (HK$60) and craft beer cocktails like the Michelada, featuring Lager, tomato juice, lime, hot sauce and salt for HKD$55.
Tequila shots for the brave (HKD$30) and Gweillo X JIA Champagne Pilsner for HKD$50 round out the options.

TWO. OCHO DE MAYO
Come Wednesday May 8th at 5pm, the second Cinco De Mayo party begins at BackBar.
For the unrequited, “ocho” means eight in Spanish, and off the back of last year’s success, the Ocho De Mayo party returns along with four types of Tequila cocktails and Estrella Galicia beers for HKD$50. So too a guest shift from former World Class Hong Kong winner Tom Wood.
Purchase the “Ocho or Mayo” cocktail to pick a token out of a sombrero behind the bar… The “Ocho” token yields a Tommy’s Margarita made with Ocho Tequila, while the “Mayo” one receives the ultimate chip ’n’ dip combination – tortillas with chipotle mayo and guac.
Come 10pm, all entrants can take their turn smashing a piñata in the alleyway with the winner receiving their own Cocktail Kingdom Margarita Kit.
Wow, what a Wednesday.
