Duddell’s at the Hong Kong International Airport – New Opening!
Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant Duddell’s is pleased to announce the opening of a new outpost at Hong Kong’s buzzing International Airport. Located at the food court, within the airport’s restricted area at the departure hall, the eatery’s arrival is set to tantalise travellers looking for quality Cantonese comfort food within a casual setting. The space will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week — giving both business and leisure flyers access to culinary excellence around the clock.
Travellers will be able to delight in Duddell’s signature dim sum and plates, all freshly steamed, roasted and stir-fried on site. Dishes will include Braised abalone rice with scallop and scallion (HK$228, limited availably), Pork and shrimp dumpling, conpoy (HK$68), freshly rolled Rice rolls with fillings including barbecued pork or shrimp (from HK$60), and Abalone puffs with diced chicken (HK$108, 2 pieces). Other highlights include Double-boiled shiitake mushroom soup (HK$138) and Sweet and sour crispy pork, pineapple (HK$128). There are also plenty of vegetarian options including new environmentally-friendly dishes made with plant-based Omnipork. Catering to all ages, little ones will also be able to enjoy children’s meals accompanied by a surprise toy.
In celebration of the opening, Duddell’s will add a much-anticipated new item to the menu: a delectable Roast Goose (HK$400 half / HK$800 whole). Pre-marinated for two days using only the finest goose from Foshan, the dish ensures the perfect meat-to-fat ratio by using birds roasted at just the right size. Fresh and crispy, each is cooked to perfection in one of two on-site roasting ovens, and accompanied with Duddell’s housemade plum sauce. Serving as the ultimate Hong Kong-centric souvenirs, there will also be a Roast Goose Giftbox and an X.O. Sauce Giftbox available — both which come in stylish, travel-friendly packaging that preserves all flavours perfectly. The housemade X.O. Sauce — a signature condiment of Cantonese cuisine that complements dim sum, seafood, fried rice or noodles and vegetables — champions a deep seafood flavour thanks to its use of finely diced dried Southern rough shrimp and premium conpoy made from extra tender Hokkaido Souya scallops. (note: X.O. sauce giftbox will be available later in October 2019)
Travellers can choose from a wide, curated selection of drinks, including premium cold brew tea and bottled kombucha — both rarities at the airport — along with freshly prepared Hong Kong classic milk tea, Yuan Yang (coffee and tea blended with milk), cold-pressed juices and boutique beer.
Customers will have the option of dining within the food court’s communal area or having their meals packaged as takeaway. As well as ordering from Duddell’s extensive menu, a convenient grab-and-go selection of just-prepared hot meals, including Barbecued pork and soya chicken bento boxes, will be available — perfect for travellers hurrying to their departures gates. Bringing an elevated culinary experience to 30,000 feet, Duddell’s meals also offer a welcomed alternative to food and drink options served during flights.
The Hong Kong International Airport location marks JIA Group’s third Duddell’s location, following a flagship in Hong Kong’s Central district, and second location in the United Kingdom’s capital of London. Perfectly aligning with the ever-evolving nature of Duddell’s, this exciting latest iteration offers a playful, casual and easily approachable new dining concept — all the while keeping considered, refined Cantonese cuisine firmly at its heart.
