This International Women’s Day, Old Bailey will launch a happy hour that’s not just for the girls, but a good cause.
On Friday March 8th, Hong Kong’s leading female bartenders and industry faces, will take over the Tai Kwun bar, with each serving their own creation.
Proceeds from the night’s bar sales will go to charity Playtao Foreverland – an initiative that supports after school programs for underprivileged Hong Kong children. While handmade items including clutches and soaps from mothers at the HATCH co-working factory will be on sale.
Those behind the bar?
Holly Graham (DRiNK Magazine), Masumi Tomioka (Duddell’s), Annie Simpson (Eat & Drink Editor, Sassy Hong Kong) and Chanel Adams (PDT). Tying into this year’s theme of #BalanceforBetter, all will attempt at balancing out the notes found in Lillet, a lesser known, age old French wine-based aperitif.
The night also serves as a preview to Old Bailey’s new Friday night Happy Hour, ‘Book Club’ – named for the sometimes weekly/monthly outing known to, and eagerly anticipated by women the world over.
Both Playtao Foreverland and HATCH, are community empowerment portfolios under SVhk. An Impact Purpose Organisation committed to building a purpose-driven urban city. SVhk drive social change through innovating pioneering and sustainable solutions to urban challenges, and empowering every individual to become a change-making agent in their community.
